What is an Individual Hypnotherapy Session?
Hypnotherapy is a private session that runs from 60-90 minutes and begins with a short interview to focus on what you want to accomplish plus any relevant personal history. Everyone is different and every session will be tailored to your particular situation. Some people prefer to spend the entire session sharing and getting comfortable sampling the relaxing aspect of hypnosis inductions. Others are ready to start with hypnosis session after a few minutes.
What To Expect In A Session:
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. It uses the simple shifting between the conscious and the subconscious mind. We naturally do this throughout our normal day, shifting back and forth, when we daydream, drive, or watch TV. You remember everything; it feels more like just closing your eyes and relaxing.
We start with “What do you want to work on? What do you want to change? What feelings come up? For example: anger, fear, guilt, grief, sadness, pain, shame, anxiety, panic, etc…you get comfortable, I play relaxing music, you experience guided imagery that helps you reach a deep state of relaxation where you remain very aware and awake. We return to the emotion/behavior/body issue you want to improve and release some of the feelings around it. You regress back in time to the earliest source of those feelings. Your subconscious automatically takes you to the memory that will help you most in your healing and positive change. While you may begin your session sitting or laying down, you might sit up or stand at some point to deepen the connection to your body. Here you safely release stuck emotions, change mistaken beliefs, draw new conclusions about yourself, make new decisions, find new choices, and develop new behaviors and clarity.
We complete the session with a healing guided imagery experience to repair old trauma and create new resources and new tools for you to use in the future.”
