About Me

I have worked therapeutically with individuals and groups for over 35 years. My professional background is in chemical dependency, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as, a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have found that my experience in the recovery process applies to many issues people face, and I value the practical aspects of change. Licensure and national certification means that I have met substantive post-graduate and continuing education criteria, including a national examination.

Psychotherapy

Therapy is a process, one that takes time, commitment, and a willingness to know yourself. Often clients will ask, “How does therapy work? Am I doing it right?” There are no right or wrong ways to be a client; only more ways to understand yourself, with the goal of building self-acceptance and self-trust. The therapeutic process includes several areas of focus: listening to your body, awakening and strengthening intuition, the therapeutic relationship, and creative experiments.

Women’s personal growth groups

Imagine meeting with a group of women on a regular basis…
A group of women who support you and know you…
A place to learn more about yourself as a woman….
Such a place exists

  • Re-claim your Authentic Self– Speaking what is true is often a challenge for women. We tend to offer what is “nice “ and “comforting” versus what lives in our souls. In this group we will invite each women’s voice and experience to come out of hiding.
  • Deepen Relations– Women need each other. We need to see ourselves in other women’s eyes and lives. We need to feel “not alone” so that we may be supported on our journeys. This experience offers the time and space to open to other women’s hearts. This opening creates a necessary sisterhood that empowers participants to move authentically in the world.
  • Integrate Your Wholeness– In the culture we live today we split the mind/ emotion/ body/ spirit connection. The mind is valued as the “I” while the body is demoted to the “it”. In this group our intention is to heighten awareness, experiment with and discover the wisdom housed within each women’s body.

As group facilitators our focus and intention is for each women to experience her self as safe to push her emotional and relational edges. We will integrate a variety of methodologies to create an innovative and unique group experience. There are no structured topics. Emphasis is placed on the issues that hold interest and vitality for the group. Each story shared is held with honor and experienced as a gift to the group.

Woman’s Way of Knowing The Making of Your Intuitive Doll

This day long workshop follows the Russian folktale of Vasalisa, in which a young girl is blessed by her dying mother, threatened by her stepmother, and sent out into the forest to find her intuitive wisdom. This story teaches the lessons of the life, death, rebirth cycle necessary for every woman’s transformation.

Through use of experiential exercises, we engage in the tasks necessary to find, strengthen and trust one’s intuitive voice. This voice has been there from the very beginning. We recognize it and nurture it during this day of story, ritual, and creative expression, which culminates in the creation of an intuitive doll. The making of the doll deepens each woman’s intuitive listening. No prior sewing experience is necessary.

Professional Consultation

As therapists, we tend to suffer from professional isolation. Consultation is a great way to add skills to your therapeutic repertoire while creating community. As a professional consultant I draw from my 35 years of experience in private practice, as well as, my extensive clinical training.

I have found consultation, whether individually or in a group, to be particularly useful to examine counter transference, reduce burnout, and increase support.

Financial Wellness Coaching

To inform my work as a Financial Therapist, I draw from 35 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor. My approach is to explore the patterns that consciously or unconsciously inhibit our sense of financial mastery. There is no right or wrong in this process—only more ways to understand yourself.

As a Financial Therapist, my goal is to support awareness and healthy relational patterns between you and your money. Similar to other relationships, our relationship with money requires time, attention, and thoughtfulness.

I offer individual sessions, small and large group trainings/workshops.

Collaborative Divorce Process

Collaborative Practice is a relatively new legal process. Its intention is to humanely resolve disputes by restoring control to you, the couple. The collaborative process works to maintain mutual respect and transparent communication to help you identify and meet your individual and family’s needs.

Choosing Collaborative Divorce allows you the benefit of working with collaboratively trained lawyers, along with a highly trained professional team that may include a mental health coach and a financial specialist. The team approach is unique to collaborative process, and I believe is integral to its success.

The collaborative team’s focus is to understand your unique circumstances and assist you in creatively brainstorming workable solutions specific to your legal, emotional, financial, and parenting concerns. The mental health coach and financial specialist are neutral in their place on the team. That means they support both parties to work together to reach their goals.  The collaborative process does not involve the court system, thereby avoiding court costs and allowing you to create a settlement that uniquely meets your needs and those of your spouse.  For more information please visit my website www.patriciaboswell.com
